Double Brook FarmWell, the school called at 6am and we have been outside frolicking ever since. There really is nothing like a snow day and a few brisk snowballs to get you in the holiday spirit!

Double Brook FarmI decided to head over to St. Michaels to check on the steers. They were peacefully feasting away on hay and digging for greens when I approached.

Double Brook FarmLook at that thick coat!

Taylor has them in the best possible spot for the weather – a nice swale to protect them from the wind, proximity to the tree line for shelter and plenty of food and (unfrozen!) water. Plus the cattle do a nice job of staying together.

Double Brook FarmThe pigs seemed equally happy in the snow. Trotting around and rooting for edibles. Unfortunately for them, I came empty-handed – with the kitchen scraps still sitting on the counter. The look on this guy’s face says it all.

Double Brook FarmI’ll be sure to get back by the end of the day with our leftover pizza. Don’t tell Antimo!

Double Brook FarmWe hope everyone is enjoying this day and driving carefully. Stop into the market for one of Anthony’s hot chocolates, mochas or coffees if you’re out and about!
