Time To Cut Hay

***First – a PSA – we are now selling our meats, bacon, sausages and eggs at the Princeton Farmer's Market every Thursday until November. 9am-3pm. Come by and say hello to William!

It's been a banner spring for rain and cooler temps. The result? Super tall grasses shooting up and our thoughts turn to cutting hay.

When the moment is right (aka the sun comes out for several days), we get the equipment out, test it, fix it, and fire it up. These have been some hot, dusty days, but we are already quite late in the season to start, thanks to the rain. So it's go time.

And there is something nice about starting the day early, knowing you will be banking your hay stores for the winter.

The animals will thank us when it gets cold and they want to nestle.

Or have winter babies.

Or survey their future territory.

We hope you are staying cool. The animals know how to do it – they simply lay low all day in the shade. Roll on, summer!
