Well it’s time to put away the cardigans and long-sleeved shirts. It’s smoking hot out there. The moment has come to find a hammock and just let the days pass you by.

Double Brook Farm - Summer Weather Finally HereTaylor and the pasture crew have moved animals to shade. I like the steer in the creek in the opening of the trees. He simply would not look at me to have his picture taken. I guess it’s too hot for Paparazzi!

Double Brook Farm - Summer Weather Finally HereAlways anxious to see what vegetables are coming in this week, I checked in with John, Justin and Ian. They were getting the baby fennel ready for the market (and the juicer!).

Double Brook Farm - Summer Weather Finally HereCharlton also had his team readying herbs and flowers for the market. Beautiful lavender, herbs of all kinds and gorgeous Yarrow flowers (see below), which will be part of bouquets this weekend at the market, along with wild Bergamot flowers.

The Food You Want From The Farmer You Know

The puppies’ first day and night in the barn with the sheep. They will be paired with an older dog as soon as the cold weather breaks. For now they are cozy with the newborn lambs and the heat lamp. It’s a little bittersweet!

Babies of all sorts! Two little lambs, Leo and another male, who is yet unnamed, are being bottle fed up in the barn. And of course a glamour shot of Dotty out by the barn.
The moment is here. We have one male Pyrenees/Maremma (We are keeping 4 for the farm). If you are interested in either Duke or Samson, please reach out to us at info@doublebrookfarm.com.
