Well, the clocks have changed and all of us, including the animals, have a new lease on life. First, the puppies are about 25-30lbs. It will be a while before they are 100lbs – but they're getting there, Here's Daisy with Bob and Reba, seeing how she stacks up.

Daisy is already patrolling the perimeter with the sheep, learning the ropes from her wards.

The sheep are in and out of the barn, but they are certainly ready for some fresh new grass, and a little less hay.

The bottle lambs are also coming along. They are now drinking from a bucket feeder (we no longer have to hold a bottle for them and entice them to feed). It's the small things… And this week, they go down to less mealtimes in general, which means Jon doesn't have to go down to the barn every night at 10pm to feed them. But somehow, I think he likes that, too.

The turkey hens are starting to drop eggs are everywhere! Soon we will be incubating and hatching.

Pigs and chickens over at the other barn are loving the warmer weather.

And speaking of chickens – the ladies are laying again in earnest. Our eggs are back on the shelves at Maria's Market – part of the newly-reimagined Hopewell Fare (in the former Brick Farm Market building) – to complement our meats and the delicious broths, stews, cured meat, jams, sauces, sausages, and other treats.

As alway, you can get our meats in person Tuesday-Sunday at Maria's Market by the cut or special order (email market@mariashopewell.com or call 609-388-7333) OR you can order a whole or half pig or lamb animal share as well as large orders of turkey, chicken and dog food through our site. See all the information and our order sheet on our ‘Shop Our Products' page HERE.
Look for us readying the fields for the sheep, chickens and turkeys – we are ready to shake off the cold.
