We just took delivery of two Suffolk rams who will help shoulder the ‘burden’ of our other 2 Katahdin rams. It’s hard work, but it has to be done!
They seemed to take to the fields and the grass very well and are luxuriating under the water wagon at present.
Another ‘animal’ appearance in town are the oxen of the Hopewell Valley Stampede, courtesy of the Hopewell Valley Arts Council. Each are done by different artists with a unique interpretation. For more information, and to see the other 68 oxen in the stampede, check out the Hopewell Valley Arts Council’s web site.
Above is our ox at the Brick Farm Market, ‘Agricolox’, painted by our market neighbor, Nancy Stark.
She has depicted some amazing details of wildlife (flora and fauna) in New Jersey…
Look for oxen all over the Hopewell Valley at businesses, in hospitals, in front of libraries, on sidewalks, in fields, etc etc etc…
