New life is happening at the farm every day.
The first kids of the year were born last weekend in the unusually high temps. Mom is cleaning off her charges and preparing to nurse while Layla looks on.
When Layla feels all is clear, she can get back to the other business she has in the barn.
As the little ones are born, Brett and Colin move the new families to smaller enclosures for a few days so that they can bond and get comfortable nursing.
Sometimes they need a little assistance. This little guy's mother has mastitis and cannot nurse, so Colin lends a hand.
As we settle the herd back down, Brett keeps Wayne from ramming into us.
And the sheep watch and wait for their turn. They start lambing in a week!
