Jon Digs Deep and Makes His Dancing Debut for a Cause

Once in a great while, as when hell freezes over and pigs fly, Jon can be coaxed to the dance floor. Settings include weddings and milestone birthday parties and… that’s just about it. It really is like spotting a snow leopard, and for good reason. Jon’s technique, or what we can loosely refer to as his ‘style’, can only be described as alligator-like: the obligatory overbite, arms tight to the body, jerky movements with no relationship whatsoever to the music and zero awareness of the proximity of his dance partner (and by this, I mean her feet).

This is the raw material that Dazzle chose to work with for their benefit ‘Mad Hot Ballroom’ (http://www.dazzlenj.org/) to support Young Audiences of New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania (http://www.yanj-yaep.org/). The gauntlet had been thrown.

Double Brook FarmSo, how do you turn THIS:

Double Brook FarmInto THIS?

Double Brook FarmWell I can assure you, it takes a lot of doing. Jon has been working hard, practicing weekly with the lovely Liliana Attar, and perfecting his tango. The results are impressive and he keeps getting better. Much like an episode of The Swan, an unexpected transformation is taking place at the hands of a professional! Check out these moves:

In case you were worried, the outfit you see in the picture is more like the outfit he will be wearing in the competition (NOT the Elvis shirt). However, it is tight. Have you ever heard the expression ‘that fits like 10 pound of potatoes in a 5-pound sack’? Anyhoo…

The final word on this event is that it is THIS SATURDAY at the Hyatt in Princeton. All the links above can take you to more information (including how to vote!). Rest assured, if you cannot make it, there will be photos and videos of this extravaganza and they will be posted here for your viewing pleasure.

Go Jon and make Double Brook Farm proud!
