How to Donate your Legally Harvested Deer

Double Brook Farm is partnering with Hunters Helping the Hungry, a New Jersey-based program that assists hunters in donating the extra deer that they have legally harvested during the NJ hunting season. The program helps food banks throughout New Jersey deliver quality protein to the people they serve.

The program waives the fee for processing for a field-dressed deer weighing more than 50 lbs. for the entire 2025-2026 season (hunters will pay a fee for any animal that is under 50 lbs.).

To learn more about how to donate your bagged deer, please visit HuntersHelpingTheHungry.org.

In addition, Double Brook Farm can cut-and-wrap venison for hunters who would like to keep the meat from their legally harvested animal. The process and fee structure is detailed in our downloadable Venison Cut Sheet.

So patiently waiting to be brushed out. I think Nelly leaned into it, even with the huge crowd of turkeys, stealing her fur and pecking me in the back. #greatpyrenees #pasturedturkeys #doggrooming

Egg laying chickens on the fresh grass! Daisy is happy to have a visitor and some scratches. And I found this wildlife on a dangerous mission to cross the road. It is safe on the other side. Come see us at the @lville_market tomorrow for eggs, pastured meat and more tomorrow 9am-12pm #pasturedlamb #pasturedpork #pasturedpoultry #greatpyrenees
Wild and wacky stuff happening today at the farm. First, an early morning breakout of horses from a neighboring farm, and then a discovery of pounds of hen of the woods mushrooms. Between these happenings, egg carton deliveries, turkey 🦃 orders, and the usual manning the phones, it was a busy fall day.
