Hopewell Harvest Fair & turkeys

First things first.

We will be at the Hopewell Harvest Fair this Saturday, September 19 (rain date October 3) located at the Hopewell Elementary School.

The hours are 9:45am-4:00pm. It is a great day of family fun with food, music, crafts, and a million things for kids and adults to see and do. For our tent in the Farmer's Market area, we will be running it much like we do at the Princeton and Lambertville Farmer's Markets. With one exception – we will be also taking orders for Thanksgiving turkeys.

Can't go to the the fair? No problem – you will be able to order your turkey, starting the morning of Sept 19 on our website. Look for the email on the 19th with all the information.

Just as a refresher, our turkeys are bred, born, hatched, and raised on our farm. They run free (sometimes too free) on about 10 acres of pasture, roost in trees, and generally make a racket while Nellie tries to keep them safe. They supplement their foraged diet with a non-GMO feed that is raised for us by local farmers. We do not use antibiotics or hormones, because…ew.

The breeds we raise are Spanish Black and Bronze crosses. These heritage breeds raised on pasture yield a flavor and texture of meat that cannot be matched.

Ok, enough of a teaser. We'll see you at the fair – and look for our email September 19th with all the ordering information.

The Food You Want From The Farmer You Know

So patiently waiting to be brushed out. I think Nelly leaned into it, even with the huge crowd of turkeys, stealing her fur and pecking me in the back. #greatpyrenees #pasturedturkeys #doggrooming

Wild and wacky stuff happening today at the farm. First, an early morning breakout of horses from a neighboring farm, and then a discovery of pounds of hen of the woods mushrooms. Between these happenings, egg carton deliveries, turkey 🦃 orders, and the usual manning the phones, it was a busy fall day.
