Heat Waves

Wow, those were quite the hazy, hot and humid temps we had there. Coupled with the smoke blowing across the US from fires, it felt downright apocalyptic.

Most vulnerable to the heat, the pigs have strategies to help them stay cool. First and foremost, there is nothing better than to nestle into a cooling mud bath and forget about world for a while.

They hydrate, of course (as we all should), by moseying up to the bar and helping themselves to a beverage.

Or sidling up to mom…

Mostly, though, they like to take it quite easy and hit the shade. Why run when you can walk? And why walk when you can sit? And why sit when you can…well, you get the picture.

We all look forward to September, cooler breezes and a different tempo on the farm.
