Hard Loss for the Farm

Robin McConaughy

Robin McConaughy

Last week, we lost a great dog: our Great Pyrenees, Captain. Cap was very young to have had so many illnesses and we are still trying to understand what caused his weak immune system. In the meantime, he will be sorely missed.

Here he is (above) trying to escape and get to the animals when he was still too little to be out in the fields alone. He was a great companion, and a stellar guard dog.

Always cool as a cucumber with the animals, whether it was poultry, sheep or goats.

He will be missed. Especially by his buddy, Rufo (cap is sitting up).

Sheep Are Finally On The Spring Grass

The day finally arrived! We prepared to let the flock loose on the spring grass for the first time this year. And out they went… The action was very much like a crowded escalator when one person stops at the bottom as the first sheep (literally) out of the gate ...
