I took a walk to the fields to check on the chickens and the dogs last week. The new chicken wagons are coming along!
Jon was working on watering system.
While the ladies went about their business.
The roosters were preening around, making themselves heard.
And Faith was patrolling and snoozing, alternatively.
Mostly, the hens were enjoying the break in the heat and taking dirt baths in between scratching and pecking. Actually, I think we all were enjoying this break in the heat.
The chickens will rotate through the pastures as a clean up crew for the sheep: spreading manure and seeds and dropping more ‘fertilizer' on the ground before they switch to new fields. The pasture will be lush and vibrant next spring!
